Passports

**PER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE, CURRENTLY, ROUTINE SERVICE CAN TAKE 7-10 WEEKS TO PROCESS AND RETURN YOUR PASSPORT/AND OR CARD. FOR EXPEDITED SERVICE, IT CAN TAKE 3-5 WEEKS. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY SO YOU ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO RECEIVE YOUR DOCUMENT.**

Passport application only accepted until 3:00 pm during business hours

The Montgomery County Clerk’s Office is a full service Passport Agent for the U.S. Department of State. We process NEW applications for passport books and cards. We also take photos for an additional $10.00 for your convenience. If you need it sooner, you may choose to expedite it for an additional fee of $60.00 plus $19.53 to have it returned to you overnight once they have finished processing it.

Passport Renewals

If you have a previously issued Passport Book or Card and:

It is not extensively damaged or mutilated
was issued within the past 15 years
was issued when s/he was 16 yrs old or older
was printed in his/her current name, unless s/he is able to include a certified marriage certificate or certified name change decree.

You may obtain the U.S. Passport Renewal Form in the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office or at Travel.State.Gov* to fill out and print.

Montgomery County Clerk’s Office DOES NOT process Passport Renewals. It is your responsibility to mail the required documents in.
