Requesting Copies of Documents

MONTGOMERY COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE DOES NOT PROVIDE RECORDING INFORMATION AND /OR COPIES OF DOCUMENTS VIA EMAIL, FAX OR PHONE

**There are public computers located in the County Clerk’s Office where you can print out the document for a fee if you chose to come in instead of mailing in a request. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. During the months of July and August only our office hours are 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.**

IF YOU WOULD LIKE A COPY OF A DOCUMENT THAT HAS BEEN RECORDED/FILED YOU MUST:

Mail in a request with the information required (e.g. names, address of property, etc., approx. date document was recorded/filed) and the type of document you are looking for.
There will be a $5.00 search fee for every 2 years searched and $1.00 per page of the document.
Checks are made payable to Montgomery County Clerk
You must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of the document(s).
If you forget to include a self-addressed, self-stamped envelope, our office will provide you one for a $1 fee. The fee includes a standard #10 business envelope with up to 5 pages, and postage. Anything over 5 pages will incur an additional $1 fee.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE JUST RECORDING INFORMATION WITH NO COPIES YOU MUST:

Mail in a request with the information required (e.g. names, address of property, etc., approx. date document was recorded/filed) and the type of document you are looking for.
There will be a $5.00 search fee for every 2 years searched
You must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of the information or if you prefer, we can email your information if you provide an email address once we receive the required fees.

**If you need a document immediately, the County Clerk’s Office recommends that you contact a local Title Company so they may assist you more rapidly.
