New Registrations

For first time registering of your car, truck, or SUV, you will need to bring the following:

• Completed MV-82 form*
• Completed DTF-802 form*
• Proof of Ownership
• NYS Driver's License, Permit, or Non-Driver ID
• NYS Insurance Card
• Proof of Sales Tax Payment, Sales Tax Exemption, or Purchase Price
• Sales Tax Form for Vehicles Bought from a Store/Dealership (DTF 803) (PDF)*
• Sales Tax Form for Vehicles Bought Out of State (DTF 804) (PDF)*

For first time registering an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), you will need to bring the following:

• Completed MV-82 form*
• Completed DTF-802 form*
• Proof of Ownership
• NYS Driver's License, Permit, or Non-Driver ID
• Proof of Sales Tax Payment, Sales Tax Exemption, or Purchase Price

For first time registering a boat, you will need to bring the following:

• Completed MV-82B form*
• Completed DTF-802 form*
• Proof of Ownership
• NYS Driver's License, Permit, or Non-Driver ID
• Proof of Sales Tax Payment, Sales Tax Exemption, or Purchase Price

For first time registering a snowmobile, you will need to bring the following:

• Completed MV-82SN form*
• Completed DTF-802 form*
• Proof of Ownership
• NYS Driver's License, Permit, or Non-Driver ID
• Proof of Sales Tax Payment, Sales Tax Exemption, or Purchase Price

Registration Renewals

Registration renewals are a Fast Lane transaction! Renew here to keep your hard-earned dollars in your county!

For registration renewals, you will need to bring the following:

• Renewal Notice
• Payment

If you have misplaced your renewal notice, you may do a "paperless" renewal with your driver's license as long as there is no address change, or, fill out an MV-82 form* to renew.
