The Montgomery County Historian/RMO has collaborated with Fonda-Fultonville Middle School Social Studies teacher Holly Thompson, and Scott Haefner and Alessa Wylie from Old Fort Johnson National Historic Landmark to create outreach kits designed to useful tools in teaching students about local history. To date, kits have been created for the themes of the Colonial Life and the Civil War. Future kits may focus on the Underground Railroad/Slavery, Transportation, etc.
Kits are available for loan to school districts in Montgomery County at no cost. Teachers may reserve kits by contacting the Department of History & Archives and may be picked up for use by school district for a schedule period of time.
