Employment

The people you see at the polling site are Election Inspectors. They are citizens from the community who have been trained to help protect the honesty of the election and to help voters on Election Day. We are always looking for dedicated voters to serve as election workers at the voting locations throughout Montgomery County. Get involved and become a proud participant in a process that is the foundation of democracy in our county.

Election Workers are the
Guardians of the Ballot

Requirements include:

  • Must be a registered voter in Montgomery County
  • Speak and read English
  • Enjoy people and service to others

What tasks will you perform as an Election Worker

As part of a team you will:

  • Set up the voting site for voting
  • Process the voters
  • Demonstrate voting procedures to voters
  • Assist voters if requested
  • Break down voting site after voting
  • Report the election results

Compensation

You’ll be paid $30 for in person training; $15 per hour when working an election.

Training

Training sessions are scheduled at various times during the months of May-June and September. Each session is approximately two and one half hours long. Your attendance at one of these sessions annually is mandatory to be eligible to work. Once certified and appointed you will serve for one year.
