Snowmobile Training Held In Florida; STOP-DWI Partners With Ride Clean NY

With Winter Approaching, County Provides Training & Tools For Residents When Using Snowmobiles

FONDA - Montgomery County STOP-DWI is proud to announce the recent completion of another local snowmobile safety certification course. Forty people, of varying ages, attended this training on Saturday, Nov. 7, which was conducted by Instructor Marilyn Sawyer and sponsored by the Town of Florida Snowmobile Club at the Town of Florida Town Hall. Marilyn was assisted by the New York State Police, covering laws pertaining to snowmobiling, Evan Eisenhandler from Operation Lifesaver, covering train safety and the Florida Volunteer Fire Department. Montgomery County STOP-DWI also recently partnered with Ride Clean NY. Presenter Paul Lenz was on hand to talk about the importance of snowmobiling sober and not under the influence of alcohol.

As winter approaches, the Montgomery County STOP-DWI program encourages this message to be shared with everyone. Learning the importance of riding clean and sober, when first getting involved with snowmobiling should change the thought process of all involved. Too many people have been injured or even killed, while riding under the influence. One person hurt or injured is simply too many. Please don't mix alcohol with operating any type of mechanical device.
