County Opens COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist Hotline

For Immediate Release: County Opens COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist Hotline
Effort to Maximize Vaccine Distribution Once Available & Streamline Large Volume of Inquiries from Public

FONDA—Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort announced today the opening of the COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist Hotline. Opening the hotline is an effort to maximize the distribution of the vaccine once it becomes more readily available in the county.

“Opening up eligibility when vaccine is not available has placed an overwhelming burden on public health departments and hospitals across the state,” Ossenfort said. “Our hotline is aimed to ease the burden and provide residents with the latest information.

Montgomery County does not currently have vaccine. Those who call the hotline will be added to the waitlist and will be contacted once shipments become available and the county is able to schedule appointments. Please keep in mind there is currently a limited allocation of vaccine from the federal government. The state only currently receives 300,000 vaccines per week.

“We have received a number of calls from residents anxiously anticipating receiving the vaccine and we know how confusing this process has been for the public and we wanted to mitigate that as much as possible by having one specific number they can contact,” Ossenfort said. “From the people we have spoken to so far, just having their name on a vaccine waitlist provides them some sense of relief during this extremely stressful time.”

Those interested in being added to the vaccine waitlist can call 518-853-8247 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The phone will not be staffed outside the times listed above or on County holidays. You can leave a message and it will be returned as soon as possible.

“We do not know when Montgomery County will receive vaccine nor how many doses will be allocated but we want to provide the most up-to-date information for residents and answer their questions,” Ossenfort said.
