Bid #08-07 - Contract No. 1 - CR 65 River Road Relocation

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for CR 65 River Road Relocation will be received by the Montgomery County Purchasing Agent until 10:00 a.m. local time April 17, 2007 at the Montgomery County Annex Building, 20 Park Street, Fonda, New York 12068, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids will be received for the following Contract:

BID #08-07 Contract No. 1 - CR 65 River Road Relocation

The project consists of constructing approximately two kilometers (1.25 miles) of new road on the site of the abandoned West Shore Railroad. A bicycle and pedestrian trail is to be constructed alongside approximately 1.24 kilometers (0.77 miles) of the new road. Additionally, the CR 65 truss is to be stabilized, which includes removing the timber deck and stringers.

DBE Goal = 11%.

Contract Documents, including Advertisement For Bids, Information For Bidders, Wage Rates, Additional Instructions, Bid Documents, Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements, Specifications, Contract Drawings and any Addenda, may be examined at no expense at the office of Barton & Loguidice, P.C., Consulting Engineers, 290 Elwood Davis Road, Liverpool, New York 13088, or at Montgomery County Department of Public Works, 6 Park Street, Fonda, New York 12068, or at Montgomery County Purchasing Department, 20 Park Street, Fonda, New York 12068. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Barton & Loguidice, P.C. or Montgomery County Purchasing Department, 20 Park Street, Fonda, New York 12068 upon deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for each set (non-refundable). Checks only shall be made payable to Montgomery County.

CASH DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALL HANDLING COSTS (MAIL, DELIVERY SERVICES, ETC.) SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDER.

Each proposal will be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the gross amount of the bid. No bidder may withdraw within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening therefore.

The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish performance, payment, and guarantee bonds from an acceptable Surety Company for an amount not less than 100% of the accepted bid.

This project is subject to the provision of Chapter 605, Laws of the State of New York of 1959, Section 103-A of the General Municipal Law and subsequent amendments, and all Federal requirements.

The right is reserved to waive any Informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.

The work under Contract No. 1 is located on the abandoned West Shore Railroad bed between the Herkimer/Montgomery County line to the west and the existing River Road to the east in the Town of Minden, Montgomery County.
