Montgomery County Broadband Expansion Initiative

A county-led planning effort to expand access to fast, reliable, and affordable internet throughout Montgomery County, supported by state and federal broadband programs.

Project Overview

The Montgomery County Broadband Technical Assistance (BTA) Project is a planning initiative designed to close the digital divide and prepare the County for sustainable broadband investments. The project will:

• Evaluate current broadband availability and infrastructure
• Identify service gaps and priority areas
• Engage with community stakeholders
• Recommend scalable solutions, partnerships, and funding strategies

Goals:

• Universal connectivity for residents, businesses, farms, and institutions
• Long-term affordability and digital equity
• Infrastructure and permitting readiness for BEAD, ConnectALL, and related grants
