Executive Order #1 of 2014 - Animal Welfare Investigation & Cruelty Prevention Commission
Montgomery County Executive Matt Ossenfort has executed his first Executive Order of 2014, to establish the creation of the Animal Welfare Investigation & Cruelty Prevention Commission.
Attached is document containing more information about the Commission, which will be chaired by legislator Martin Kelly and will be tasked with looking into puppy mills, animal cruelty and the sheltering of animals, following a disaster.
"This is a chance to formally recognize that animal welfare is an issue of importance in Montgomery County," said Ossenfort.
The Commission will consist of a comprehensive mix of law enforcement officials, animal professionals, advocates and other county leaders.
