Wastewater Board, Sanitary District No. 1, Roof Replacements

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: That the Wastewater Board of the Montgomery County Sanitary District No. 1 (The Board) on the 17th day of June, 2010, at 2:00 PM at 28 Old Station Road, Nelliston, New York, will publicly open and read all sealed bids and proposals received pursuant to this notice for the furnishing of work, labor and materials in connection with the Roof Replacements for the Montgomery County Sanitary District No. 1.

Work for the Roof Replacements consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the replacement of a total of approximately 7,600 S.F. of existing membrane roofing with a new fully adhered membrane roofing system at the Fort Plain, Nelliston and Palatine Pump Stations and the Administrative and Control Buildings at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This work includes all associated tear-off, disposal, insulation, flashing, accessories, and membrane roofing system, all as further detailed in the plans and specifications. Removal work includes asbestos abatement according to Department of Labor regulations.

Each bid must be submitted on the official forms included in the Project Manual. The bid forms are NOT TO BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT MANUAL. The entire Project Manual will be submitted within a sealed opaque envelope. The name of the bidder and the contract for which bid is submitted shall be indicated on such envelope.

Plans and specifications may be obtained at the office of the following, Monday - Friday, between 9 AM and 2:30 PM:

A deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) will be required for each complete set of bidding documents which include 11" x 17" scaled drawings. The Fifty Dollar ($50.00) deposit for one set of documents may be refunded if requested by bidders that have submitted bids in full conformance with this notice and if bid documents are returned in good condition.

Plans and Specifications will be mailed, first class, for a non refundable fee of $25.00 per set for postage and handling

Payment for all documents must be made in cash or check, & all checks must be made payable to the Montgomery County Sanitary District No. 1.

Accompanying each bid must be a bid bond, certified check or bank check made payable to the order of the Montgomery County Sanitary District No. 1in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bidder's maximum bid amount, as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to a bidder, said successful bidder will comply with the Notice to Bidders and the specification for the contract in accordance herewith. Said bid bond, certified check or bank check will be retained by the Board, and upon completion of the contract, in accordance with said specifications, the said bid bond, certified check or bank check will be returned to the bidder.

On failure to comply with the Notice to Bidders and the specifications for said contract, the successful bidder shall forfeit the deposit to the Montgomery County Sanitary District No. 1.

Every bid or proposal must contain a noncollusion affidavit executed by the bidder or his authorized representative. Separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract sum will be required of the successful bidder.

The bidder to whom the contract will be awarded shall attend at the said opening place of the bids, within ten (10) days after the date of Notice of Award with the required sureties, and there sign the contract for the work. Failure to do so will result in Bidder's forfeit of contract work. No bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the date set for the opening thereof. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids, or any authorized postponement thereof. The Board reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids submitted.

All sealed bids or proposals must be received by the Board prior to 2:00 PM on June 17, 2010, the date on which all sealed bids or proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
