Montgomery County to host community service day on April 26
Fonda, NY - The Montgomery County Department of Youth, ATI and Veterans' Services is pleased to announce the first
Youth Serving Veterans Spring Cleanup Day, to be held on Saturday, April 26th, at 9 a.m.
It will be a great community service experience, where Montgomery County's youth will have an opportunity to give back and show their appreciation to our Veterans by providing yard clean-up services.
"To be able to partner the youth of the county, with those who have served our country, will make for a great day and terrific event," Montgomery County Executive Matt Ossenfort said. "This is an awesome opportunity for kids to learn from an important resource - our veterans."
A picnic will be held in the afternoon for the youth groups, chaperones and Veterans participating in the event.
The Montgomery County Youth Bureau and Veterans' Service Agency are seeking youth, youth groups and youth organizations willing to offer their time to the Veterans in our community.
To sign on as a volunteer youth group, or if you are a Veteran and would like some assistance with your spring yard work, please call the Montgomery County Youth Bureau at 518-853-4355 or email the Youth Bureau Director, Brenda Rava, at brava@co.montgomery.ny.us, by March 21, 2014.
