(CANAJOHARIE, NY) – The holiday season is in full swing, and Visit Montgomery County, NY, invites families and holiday enthusiasts to join us for Elves Day Out on Saturday, December 7, in the charming village of Canajoharie. Known for its historic downtown, the iconic Arkell Museum, and a delightful two-story Christmas shop, Canajoharie will come alive with festive cheer starting at 10 a.m. with an “Ugly Sweater 5K” run/walk.
“Elves Day Out is a celebration of the holidays and the incredible small businesses that make Montgomery County such a special place,” said Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman. “The Village of Canajoharie is very dear to me, and I’m overjoyed to see so many people coming into the village, exploring its charm, and supporting our local businesses. It’s truly what the holiday season—and this community—is all about.”
This festive event is made possible through a continued partnership between Montgomery County Tourism and the Canajoharie-Palatine Bridge Chamber of Commerce. Visitors can enjoy a variety of holiday-themed activities, including shopping at local businesses and vendors, story time with Mrs. Claus, a tree lighting ceremony, parade of lights and, of course, a chance for children to meet Santa Claus.
Exciting new features for 2024 include:
“I am thrilled to welcome everyone to what has grown into an even bigger and better event for our community,” said Janet Stanley, President of the Canajoharie-Palatine Bridge Chamber of Commerce. “What began as a small evening celebration has transformed into a full-day event, thanks to our amazing partners at Montgomery County Tourism. Their support has been invaluable in helping us create a magical experience for families. A special thank you to Stephanie Battisti for being our go-to gal and organizing force this year!”
