"Late" Hours Aim To Improve Customer Service
FONDA– Montgomery County Clerk Brittany Kolbe is pleased to announce new hours at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Fonda in an effort to improve services for the public. Beginning February 4, 2020, DMV hours will change on Tuesdays from 8:30am – 3:30pm to 10am -5pm. The other days of the week will remain 8:30am to 3:30pm. There will be no change in the services available on Tuesdays.
"For many, it can be difficult to visit the DMV during normal business hours," Kolbe said. "Establishing late hours one day a week will not only increase access, but will allow greater opportunity to keep local dollars in Montgomery County."
Kolbe added that it’s becoming more common for constituents to go online for their DMV transactions, causing the County to lose revenue. Kolbe said inconvenient hours are partly to blame.
"My goal has always been to make a trip to our DMV as easy and convenient as possible. Adding late hours on top of our other initiatives, such as the Fast Lane and Information Window, is another piece of the puzzle that will better serve the constituents of Montgomery County."
Kolbe noted that the County Clerk’s office hours will remain the same, and for those who prefer to be at the DMV early in the morning, normal hours will still be available four days a week.
"With the needs of our constituents evolving, adding late hours to our DMV is a great way to ensure that people with different needs and schedules have access to their local DMV office," Kolbe said.
