Montgomery County Mental/ Public Health Director Sara Boerenko suggested holding Jeans Days to collect donations. Boerenko said she did an OFA site visit and their pantry was low.

"Seniors are the ones that built this County," Boerenko said. "They worked at Beech-Nut, are retired school teachers and factory workers. It's so important to take care of and give back to the seniors who took care of our generation for so long."

County employees collected 303 food items and $570 for the OFA senior food pantry.

"In a county with an aging population, it's important to provide these services when needed," Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said. "The County has a great partnership with the Office for Aging and we look forward to continuing that," he said. "We always get more accomplished while working as a team."

Montgomery County Office for Aging Executive Director David Jordan said there's always been a great relationship between the OFA and the County.

"We have a great relationship with the County Executive and the Legislature," Jordan said. "They have always been very supportive of anything we ask or need to support our senior population."
