Report Summarizes Goals, Future Use Ideas
FONDA - County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort announced Thursday that Skeo Solutions Inc. has released the Community Redevelopment Vision report created for the former Beech-Nut site.
"I would like to thank the EPA and Skeo Solutions Inc. for their partnership and hard work," Ossenfort said. "The community outreach efforts have been extremely positive and garnered so many exciting ideas."
The Environmental Protection Agency Superfund Redevelopment Initiative provided reuse planning assistance to the County and Village of Canajoharie by funding Skeo Solutions Inc. The Skeo team conducted research, held several public meetings and gathered information from over 150 community members to create the report.
The Skeo team and County Executive met with officials from the Village of Canajoharie and local business owners. There were also visioning workshops held at the Canajoharie High School and Canajoharie Firehouse. Participants brainstormed potential use and goals for the site during both sessions.
In addition to the summary of the community's vision and future use goals, the report includes an action plan and next steps for the former Beech-Nut site.
