Montgomery County Public Health Coalition Partners

Advancing Tobacco-Free Communities (ATFC)

This task force is a three County (Montgomery, Hamilton and Fulton Counties) coalition. The main goals of this coalition are to prevent and reduce tobacco use, reduce youth exposure to harmful tobacco marketing in retail settings, limit exposure to secondhand smoke, and reduce smoking imagery through the media.

Asthma Coalition of the Capital Region (ACCR)

The NYS DOH funds this coalition. Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services in Albany serves as the lead agency for the coalition. This coalition serves Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady and Schoharie counties. Primary project is to implement the Care Model (AKA Chronic Care Model) in practices throughout the region.

Bioterrorism Coordinator Meeting

Cancer Services Program of Fulton & Montgomery Counties

This partnership works with local health care providers and community based organizations to promote comprehensive screening for colorectal, breast and cervical cancer. The purpose of screening is to detect cancer at its earliest stages when treatment is more effective.

Montgomery County EMS Advisory Board

Its purpose shall be to assess/evaluate the public needs as to emergency medical services. To develop and implement a Comprehensive Emergency Medical Services Plan for the County in order to develop and maintain programs for EMS training, EMS-related activities and mutual aid emergencies in which the services of EMS providers would be used. In addition, to cooperate with appropriate state agencies in furthering such programs. To act as an advisory board to the County Legislature and the Montgomery County EMS Coordinator. To participate in such programs for EMS training, EMS-related activities and Mutual aid and Mutual aid programs in case of emergencies in which the services of EMS Providers would be used.

RHENSOM Rural Health Education Network of Schoharie, Otsego, and Montgomery Counties

Is designed to provide health education and information that promotes a healthy lifestyle to the above rural areas. The focus is on healthy eating and exercise as a means to prevent obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic diseases; provides education about these issues; dental education health program for elementary children; promotion of rural healthcare careers to area high school and college students. Rural Adult Immunization Coalition of Schoharie, Otsego, Montgomery, Fulton and Delaware Counties
