RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SHORT TERM LEASE OF A PORTION OF THE WEST SIDE OF 68 CHURCH ST IN CANAJOHARIE NY (LEGISLATURE)

WHEREAS, Montgomery County has obtained the real property parcel by tax foreclosure known as SBL #63.14-1-9.1 located at 68 Church Street in the Village of Canajoharie; and
WHEREAS, Winn Construction is doing work on State Route 5s and has requested being able to rent space on the west side of 68 Church St adjacent to the Canajoharie Creek to use as a staging area to free up the roadway to create more room for emergency vehicle access; and
WHEREAS, the portion requested for use by Winn Construction is currently not being used by Montgomery County.
RESOLVED, that the Montgomery County Legislature authorizes and directs the Montgomery County Executive to enter into a weekly lease agreement with Winn Construction for the portion of 68 Church Street between the Village parking lot and the Canajoharie creek for an amount of $200 a week .

I. Nature of Request:
RESOLUTION AUTHORZING SHORT TERM LEASE OF A PORTION OF THE WEST SIDE OF 68 CHURCH ST IN CANAJOHARIE NY (LEGISLATURE)
II. Justification:
This is to allow for better emergency vehicle access in the Village of Canajoharie during construction on Route 5s.
III. Legislative Impact:
Authorized pursuant to Article 2 of the Montgomery County Charter.
IV. Financial Impact:
The County will receive $200 a week.
