SECTION 1.
It is the intent of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors to
ensure the public's trust in a County Government free from conflicts
of interest and unethical acts relating to hiring practices.
SECTION 2. No elected County official of the County of
Montgomery, as defined in General Municipal law, Section 810 (2), shall
hold appointed employment, or accept appointed employment, with the
County until a period of 180 days has elapsed from the official date of
separation of service.
SECTION 3. Any appointment made in violation of this local law
shall be null and void from its origin, and violators may also be
assessed a civil penalty of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each
such violation.
SECTION 4. This law shall become effective thirty (30) days from
the date of its adoption by the Board of Supervisors.
