RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POSITIONS IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF THE LEGISLATURE AND AMENDING THE 2014 OPERATING BUDGET (LEGISLATURE)

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Montgomery County Charter, Section 2.06, Clerk of the Legislature, the Clerk shall appoint such additional personnel as are required for the efficient operation of the office of the Clerk within the appropriations provided therefore, and
RESOLVED, the position of Legislative Research Specialist is hereby established at a base salary of $42,520 and the position of Deputy Clerk of the Legislature – PT – at a salary of $2,500,
RESOLVED, the County Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to amend the 2014 Operating Budget as follows:

Pursuant to the vote of SUSPEND THE RULES, by Legislator Quackenbush, seconded by Legislator Wheeler, to amend the agenda as follows:
Resolution 15 - remove all reference of Deputy Clerk of the Legislature and create separate Resolution 29 in the same manner, passed with an aye(9). The new resolution is as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Montgomery County Charter, Section 2.06, Clerk of the Legislature, the Clerk shall appoint such additional personnel as are required for the efficient operation of the office of the Clerk within the appropriations provided therefore, and
RESOLVED, the position of Legislative Research Specialist is hereby established at a base salary of $42,520, and

MOTION TO AMEND, by Legislator Dimond, seconded by Legislator Duchessi, to change the job description to reflect the Legislative Research Specialist would report to the Legislature, was defeated with Aye(2). Legislators Quackenbush, Weitz, Bieniek, Duchessi, Wheeler, Isabel and Kuchis voted Nay. (1/28/2014)
