RESOLUTION ADOPTING INTRODUCTORY LOCAL LAW NO. 2 OF 2004 REPEAL OF LOCAL LAW NO. 7 OF 2002 WHICH ESTABLISHED A WAITING PERIOD FOR APPOINTIVE EMPLOYMENT FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS

WHEREAS, on February 24, 2004 a proposed Local law for the County of Montgomery, entitled:  “A Local Law Repealing Local Law No. 7 of 2002 Which Established a Waiting Period for Appointive Employment for Elected Officials”, was presented to the Board of Supervisors for consideration, and

WHEREAS, on February 24, 2004 Resolution No. 68 of 2004 was adopted authorizing and directing that a Public Hearing be held by the Board of Supervisors on the 23rd day of March, 2004, at the time and place appointed,

RESOLVED, that said Local Law, known as Introductory Local Law No.  2 of 2004, entitled: “A Local Law Repealing Local Law No. 7 of 2002 Which Established a Waiting Period for Appointive Employment for Elected Officials”, hereby is adopted and is incorporated and attached hereto, and

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors hereby is authorized and directed to file one certified copy thereof in the Office of the Secretary of State and to ensure that it is published in the County’s designated legal newspapers, as required by law.

MOTION TO CALL THE QUESTION by Supervisor Dybas, seconded by Supervisor Thomas, passed with Aye(1868). (7/7/2004)

RESOLUTION DEFEATED with Aye(137).  Supervisor Sinicropi, Jr. voted Aye.  Supervisor Stagliano abstained. (7/7/2004)
