RECOMMENDATION:
     

RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 264 OF 2022 - AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDING (LEGISLATURE)


Resolution by Legislator: Kelly
Seconded by: Kowalczyk

WHEREAS, Montgomery County received American Rescue Plan funds; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 264 of 2022 granted $72,000 to the Fort Plain Senior Center for a new roof; and

WHEREAS, the Fort Plain Senior Center has identified a different project it would like to use the funding for that does not require as much money.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Montgomery County Legislature amends Resolution 264 of 2022 by replacing $72,000 with $45,000 throughout the resolution in its entirety and by replacing "kitchen renovations" with "flooring and roofing for the whole facility and an industrial kitchen sink" throughout the resolution in its entirety.

I. Nature of Request:

Resolution amends Resolution Number 264 of 2022.


II. Justification:

Fort Plain Senior Center has identified a different project it would like to use the ARPA funding for that does not require as much money


III. Legislative Impact:

Authorized pursuant to Article 2 of the Montgomery County Charter


IV. Financial Impact:

This will unencumber $27K of ARPA funds.

RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 197 OF 2023 (COUNTY ATTORNEY)

WHEREAS, Resolution 197 of 2023 authorized entering into a contract with Westlaw; and 

WHEREAS, this contract is subscriber based and another user has been added; and 

WHEREAS, the cost of this contract is shared between the Department of Social Services and the Department of Law.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Resolution 197 of 2023 is amended to allow a cost not to exceed $10,000 a year.

RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATES AND TIMES OF BUDGET WORKSHOPS (LEGISLATURE)

Seconded by: Headwell, Jr.

WHEREAS,  Resolution 165 of 2024 adopted the budget guidelines for the 2024 Operating Budget and set a meeting schedule; and

WHEREAS, the Montgomery County Legislature wishes to add budget workshop dates in order to meet with departments within the County.

RESOLVED,  that the Legislature shall hold budget workshops on October 15, 2024, October 16, 2024 and October 17, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Legislative Chambers at 64 Broadway, Fonda NY. 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Legislature shall give notice of these budget workshops. 

MOTION TO AMEND by Legislator Kelly, seconded by Legislator Headwell, Jr., passed with Aye(7). Legislator Pepe voted Nay.Legislative District 9 VACANT.

Amended to read  that the Legislature shall hold October15,2024 Committee meeting at 5:30 pm followed by budget workshop  at 5:31 pm. Budget workshops on  October 16, 2024 and October 17, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Legislative Chambers at 64 Broadway, Fonda NY. (9/24/2024)
