RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF RECORDS MANAGEMENT CLERK PT – HISTORIAN

WHEREAS, the County Historian has evaluated the responsibilities in the Department and has determined after conferring with the Personnel Officer that the duties being performed currently are substantially similar to that of a Records Management Clerk-PT and therefore warrant a reclassification; and

WHEREAS, the County Historian will eliminate the position of Clerk Typist and use the remaining funds to offset the cost of the newly established position; and

WHEREAS, the position of Records Management Clerk-PT will be established using the part time equivalent of a Grade C in the CSEA bargaining agreement at an hourly rate for 2022 of $17.8164

RESOLVED, that the Montgomery County hereby establishes the position of Records Management Clerk PT  using the part time equivalent of a Grade C in the CSEA bargaining agreement at an hourly rate for 2022 of $17.8164; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, the Montgomery County Legislature hereby authorizes and directs the Montgomery County Treasurer to amend the 2022 Operating Budget as follows:

Statement of Legislative and Financial Impact:

I. Nature of Request:

To create a Records Management Clerk-PT in the Department of History and Achives.


II. Justification:

This is a reclassification of the current position as the individual is performing the duties as a Records Management Clerk-PT. Further, records management is a foundational function of the department.


III. Legislative Impact:

Pursuant to Article 2 of the Montgomery County Charter, the Montgomery County Legislature has the authority to create positions of employment and appropriate funds. 


IV. Financial Impact:

Funding for this position will be transferred partially from within the department as well as using $2500.00 from the contigent account
