Chairman Joseph M. Isabel has called a meeting of the Public Safety Committee for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in the Legislative Chambers, County Office Building, 64 Broadway, Fonda, New York 12068. 

In conjunction with Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order, this meeting will also be held electronically via teleconference on March 16, 2021 at 6:00 pm.  Members of the public may participate in the meeting by attending or by calling 1-872-240-3212, Access Code 656-287-445. RESOLUTION NO. 60 of 2021 DATED: March 23, 2021 RECOMMENDATION:

WHEREAS, the Sheriff has a need to purchase some equipment for staff; and 

WHEREAS, gifts and donations  in addition to equipment sales completely cover the cost of acquiring said equipment.

WHEREAS, the Sheriff has recommended acquiring a new K-9 unit for the Road Patrol to replace soon to be retiring K-9 GAJ and the purchase of supplies and equipment for said K-9, and

WHEREAS, gifts and donations have been made to the Sheriff’s Office to completely cover the cost of acquiring said K-9.

RESOLUTION NO. 62 of 2021 DATED: March 23, 2021 RECOMMENDATION:

WHEREAS, said positions are established within the Non-Bargaining Policy at a Grade R; and

WHEREAS, to equalize rates, it is recommended that the base salary for both positions be adjusted and established with a new base salary of $49,782; and

WHEREAS, current grant funding for said positions which previously added to the base salary will now be used to offset the newly established base; and

WHEREAS, the District Attorney and Public Defender will continue to seek grants to partially offset the county share of salaries within their departments.

RESOLVED, that the Montgomery County Legislature hereby establishes the base salary for the Secretary to the District Attorney and the Confidential Secretary to the Public Defender at $49,782 a grade R in the Non-Bargaining Policy.

RESOLUTION NO. 63 of 2021 DATED: March 23, 2021 RECOMMENDATION:

WHEREAS, the position of Criminal Investigator (PT) is currently established in Group T of the Non-Bargaining Policy; and

WHEREAS, workloads have increased; and

WHEREAS, it is requested that the base salary be amended to $39,628 in the Non-Bargaining Policy group T; and

RESOLVED, that the Montgomery County Legislature hereby establishes the new base salary for the Criminal Investigator  (PT) a grade T in the Non-Bargaining Policy;
