Statement of Legislative and Financial Impact:

I. Nature of Request:

Amending the 2020 Operating Budget

II. Justification:

Appropriations are needed to pay for water rate increases at the Montgomery County Public Safety Facility

Rates were increased by the Town of Glen during Montgomery County 2020 Budget Negotiations

III. Legislative Impact:

Pursuant to Article 2 of the Montgomery County Charter, the County Legislators have the authority to make appropriations

IV. Financial Impact:

The County will be impacted by at least and additional $50,000.00 from what was budgeted for in 2020

The County will realize the impact in the County Fund Balance as the Department of Public Works does not have the money to cover these increases

An increase in appropriatins needs to be allocated for in the 2020 Budget for Water and Sewer
