DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:  This is a professional nursing position in either the County Skilled Nursing Facility, County Public Health Department, County Jail or Social Services and involves responsibility for coordinating individual patient care and for performing nursing services requiring substantial specialized judgment and skills.  The work is performed under the general supervision of a supervisory level nursing position and in accordance with a prescribed nursing care plan.  Supervision may be exercised over the work of subordinate nursing personnel  The incumbent does related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:  This is technical work involving the installation and application of microcomputer hardware and software in a large organization with multiple equipment locations or with various user departments.  The work differs from that of a programmer or computer operator in that the primary duties consist of providing technical support to  micro-computer operations.  The work is performed under the general supervision of the department  head or higher level data processing staff.  The incumbent does related work as required.

  2. Completion of a one year of study at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university including at least 15 semester credit hours in data processing or computer science courses and 12 months experience in work involving installing micro-computers and adapting micro-computer software for users; or
  3. High school diploma or GED  and two (2) years of micro-computer experience consisting of installation, adapting software, maintenance and networking.  Additional formal, specialized training in micro-computer systems, applications and networking will be considered.

NOTE:  Data entry, word processing and other daily operation of micro-computer or computer to produce standard copy will not be counted as qualifying experience for this position.

Job Title: ASSIGNED COUNSEL ADMINISTRATOR - PART TIME

Salary: $65,000

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position involves responsibility for administering the County Article 18B Assigned Counsel program and for administering the Indigent Legal Services grant program. The incumbent reviews and approves for payment all vouchers submitted by Attorneys who have been assigned by the County or Family Court or local criminal courts or the Appellate Division to represent indigent clients under County Law Article 18B. The Assigned Counsel Administrator submits and administers the Indigent Legal Services grants that provide the funding for the Assigned Counsel office, part of the salary of the Family Court Public Defender and for training, investigators, transcripts and other needs of the Attorneys providing legal services for Indigents. The position is also responsible for preparing annual budgets for both the Assigned Counsel Program and the Indigent Legal Services Grant; and for preparing and submitting NYS reports, including the NYS Unified Court System report for Representation of Indigent Defendants. The Assigned Counsel Administrator is supervised by the County Executive. Supervision is exercised over any staff assigned to assist in the performance of the duties of the incumbent.Performs related work as required.
