Job Title: ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Investigates, prepares, and prosecutes criminal cases; does related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:  This is an appointed position under the supervision of the District Attorney.  No supervision is exercised in this position.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:  Applicants must be a legal resident of Montgomery County or a Contiguous County. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Admission to the Bar in New York State. Applicants must provide verification of their admission to the bar in NYS and provide a current Certificate of Good Standing from the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division. An employee, is required to maintain the certificate of good standing for the duration of his or her career.

Possession of a valid NYS driver’s license is required at time of appointment and maintained during employment.

Job Title: REAL PROPERTY INFORMATION SPECIALIST-PART TIME-PROVISIONAL

Salary: $21.086

Department: REAL PROPERTY

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:  This position involves assisting the County Director of Real Property Tax Services in instructing assessors, training, researching problem properties, calculating tax rates and coordinating the implementation and maintenance of a computerized Real Property Information System.  The work is performed in accordance with policies determined by the Director of Real Property Tax Services permitting latitude for organizing the work.  The incumbent does related work as required.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: Applicants must be a legal resident of Montgomery County. *Please provide a copy of your driver's license (front and back) for proof of residency*

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Either:

  1. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with an Associate’s Degree in either Computer Science, Data Processing, or in Engineering Technology or Business Administration or a related field and one year of experience involving the use of real property assessment of appraisal records; or
  2. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three years of experience preparing and maintaining real property assessment or appraisal records using data processing systems and equipment; or
  3. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A and B above.
