FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MONTGOMERY AREA EXPRESS STARTS SUMMER SCHEDULE ON JULY 1
Starting on Tuesday, July 1st, the Montgomery Area Express, ("The MAX") will modify its schedule to fit the summer work times for Montgomery County employees. For the months of July and August, Run 3 (western run) will leave: St. Johnsville at 7:45 a.m., Fort Plain at 8:00 a.m., Canajoharie at 8:15 a.m., Fultonville at 8:35 a.m., Fonda at the Annex Building at 8:40 a.m., and will arrive at the County Office Building at 8:45 a.m. The eastern run from Amsterdam will leave Riverfront Center at 8:15 a.m. and arrive at the County Office Building at 8:45 a.m. The afternoon times will not change.
The MAX will also not be running on Friday, July 4th due to the holiday.
Doug Greene, the MAX project manager said, "We're encouraged at the number of county employees using the MAX and want to continue to accommodate their work schedules. Our office has gotten a good response from a bus ridership survey that was recently sent to all County Employees and we'll be evaluating their feedback to help us make more future adjustments to our schedule." The bus ridership survey will soon be available on-line and an effort to reach out and market the MAX to the business community is being planned.
The MAX is working with Amsterdam Transit to provide bus service from western Montgomery County to the City of Amsterdam, using the Village of Fonda as a connecting hub. The MAX schedule and on-line bus ridership survey can be seen on-line at http://www.co.montgomery.ny.us/ or you can call 843-4700 for schedule information.
