5th Annual

HERITAGE DAY

May 5th 2007, 10am to 3pm
Old Courthouse, Fonda, NY

Sponsored by the Heritage & Genealogical Society of Montgomery County

Our 5th Annual HERITAGE DAY was a great success! It was another fun-filled day in which local authors, and historical societies/museums convened to raise an awareness of the Mohawk Valley's heritage. Books and various items were available for sale.

Our speaker this year was Milton C. Sernett, Professor Emeritus of African American Studies at Syracuse University. His presentation was "North Star Shining: New York State's Freedom Trail - An Illustrated Journey Along the Underground Railroad "

Various items were raffled off at HERITAGE DAY. We had a wonderful assortment of prizes to be raffled off this year:

  • Digital camera / printer package
  • Adirondack Blanketworks© blanket
  • passes (4) to Adirondack Museum
  • gift certificates to local restaurants
  • Beers' History of Montgomery & Fulton Counties (1878)

A basket of items, valued at $80.00, was also raffled off on Heritage Day, May 5th 2007. The items included were:
